When you think of beautiful photo locations and excursion destinations in Istria, the romantic streets of Rovinj or the Colosseum in Pula immediately come to mind. Besides the well-known cities, Istria also has other undiscovered sights to offer, such as Vrsar – a fairytale town in Croatia. Vrsar, also known as Orsera, is located directly on the Limfjord between the cities of Porec and Rovinj. The medieval town has long been a hidden holiday destination among those who know Croatia and steadily gains more and more popularity among travelers.

Those who want to take beautiful and unique photos, whether for themselves or to share with friends and family on social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, will find many charming photo locations in the picturesque town Vrsar. One of these photo locations is of course the romantic old town with its well-preserved city wall and the old city gates. The monthly fishermen’s festival is very popular: fresh fish and seafood are prepared directly at the harbor by the local fishermen and restaurateurs. To make the evening perfect, there is live music in various places.

Vrsar has numerous beautiful viewpoints with great views over the archipelago. Since historians are relatively certain that the Italian writer and womanizer Giacomo Casanova already walked the streets of Vrsar, it is not surprising that one of the most popular viewpoints was named after him. Once there, there is a beautiful and idyllic view of Vrsar’s islands and harbour.
